Foodie Tribe at Type-A Mom

The Foodie Tribe at Type-A Mom conference was led by Ilina Ewen of Dirt and Noise blog. Here are my quick notes from the meeting.

Some of the interesting folks in the tribe included Basil Vodka, Tooth Whale, Wilson Art.
Involvement with kids is important – at school, and at home.
There is a difference between picky kids and children with eating issues, speaking as a parent who has struggled with this with my first son.
Corn Syrup vs Corn Sugar vs. Sugar – no comment. We all know what natural is.
Smells are key to establishing good taste and cooking is a great way to do this.
Irritating trends: One upping FoodTV with cooking experimentation.
Good approach: No recipes – Kitchen Sink Cooking
Repeat after me: There is no such thing as a kid's menu.
Try The Market (restaurant) in Raleigh for great NC grown food.
Ilina's son had sushi for his birthday lunch.
Food Phreaks – Is the French fry diet real?
